I'll blag if I need to, I just don't need to at the moment. As for an art, yes definatly an art, you need bollocks as your paint brush and conviction as your canvas (or something like that).

It means 'scrounging' - getting stuff for free, using 'blather' - or fast talking.
Why Chance of course people still blag. Just the other day I managed to get a lift to work and saved a train fare.

you can arse around with say lights from B&Q but a few phone calls you could probably get proper lights, also camera wise as well few mroe phonecalls and you could upgrade what you are shooting on, etc etc etc etc
Beg, borrow, steal and Blag

For me it is a matter of convenience. I like to Own all of my own stuff, because then I can do everything at my speed. Nobody can suddenly ask for their stuff back, leaving me screwed.
The last thing I want to do is to end up with a half shot film, a fridge full of filmstock, actors who are with me for a limited period only and be running around wasting my time trying to get a new camera, or new lights.
Each to their own. Blag away.

You want to know if I'm a blagger or not!
Well that bit of info will cost you Mr1234. I'll accept a Satchler fluid head as payment... or if you're a bit skint at the mo you can just buy me a beer or two.

We have our own camera and edit suite and we blag lighting and sound equipment from my old college. The technican is a star and lets me have whatever I need- though he tends to be a bit disorganised! I'm not a particuly good blagger- but I am just starting out. Hagglying- now theres another matter- I got 300 quid of me camera- not bad for a beginer!

I'm constantely blagging.
What I've blagged and haggled in the past is:
?1000 free film from Kodak (don't get excited it was for stills)
studio hire (many times)
Lights Tungsten and flash
Helicopter ride (cost me ?20 for half an hour)
2 hours up in a Microlight ?35
under-water camera equipment (stills)
my tip is, don't be scared to ask,
